16 Miles of Snow / Photo Essay

This past winter we had much more snow than normal.
My first 16 mile run with Fleet Feet was canceled due to weather. But, I was determined to complete it.
Because of the snow and ice on the roads, the closest place to run was Cherokee Park. So, to keep myself occupied while running through sleet, snow, icy sludge, and frigid temps I created a photo challenge.
My run required making 6 laps around the park.
Challenge:
1 photo per lap.
No retakes.

Training with Fleet Feet

I first started training with Fleet Feet Louisville for the 2014 Urban Bourbon Half Marathon.
Fleet Feet's program includes multiple short runs per week, and long runs on Saturday.
Having a set running schedule and group of people, including Kyle, the training program organizer, and Andy, Fleet Feet owner to hold you accountable makes a big difference when thinking about tackling distance running.
Urban Bourbon Half Marathon

The Urban Bourbon Half Marathon in 2014 was my first half marathon.
Finishing time: 1:35:14:80
Division Place: 9th (Ages 25-29)
Overall Place: 76th
Average Pace: 7:16Min
My first half marathon, the Urban Bourbon was a great course to cut my teeth on. Both the fact that you got bourbon at bib pickup and after crossing the finish line and the camaraderie of my training group made it a great experience.
